IAOP in asia-pacific at a Glance                   

IAOP has established an Asian advisory board and formed new chapters to meet the growing needs of outsourcing professionals in the region. The association has more than 5,000 members in Asia and chapters in Malaysia, Australia, East China, Beijing, Hong Kong and the Philippines. Through its Asia-Pacific Advisory Board (APAB), active and growing chapters, and increasing membership base, IAOP provides a wide range of services and programs to meet outsourcing professionals’ needs in the fast-growing Asia-Pacific region.

Among its comprehensive offerings for outsourcing customers, providers, advisors and students in the Asia-Pacific region are the world-renowned Outsourcing World Summit® Conference Series and Outsourcing Leadership events; Certified Outsourcing Professional™ (COP) training programs; and The Global Outsourcing 100™, which ranks Asian outsourcing service providers among the world’s best and fastest growing.

 

Asia-Pacific Advisory Board

The creation of the Asia-Pacific Advisory Board is consistent with IAOP’s strategy to be a truly global membership organization. Established in 2008, the mission of the APAB is to:

Ř    Oversee the association’s operations in the Asia-Pacific region

Ř    Identify regional issues that involve all key IAOP programs and initiatives

Ř    Provide input, identify issues, break down barriers and facilitate growth surrounding all IAOP programs

Ř    Help shape IAOP policy regarding new programs and initiatives in the region

Ř    Help create focused communications from IAOP, both regionally and to global membership, on regional issues


Major Asia-Pacific Programs and Services

·       IAOP Chapters – With the growth that IAOP is enjoying in Asia, India and throughout the region comes the natural expansion of our chapters east and west, from the Bay of Bengal to the East China Sea. Regional chapters can be found in Australia; Beijing; Shanghai; Hong Kong; Chennai and Delhi, India; Malaysia and the Philippines. New chapters are forming all the time, so check back frequently for the one closest to you, or consider forming your own.

·       The 2009 Asian Outsourcing Summit – The last IAOP-hosted events in this region were The 2004 India Outsourcing Summit and The 2004 China Outsourcing Summit. Back by popular demand, and in response to the outsourcing growth explosion in the region, a spring 2009 event is being planned. Stay tuned to the IAOP Web site for the latest regional event details.

·       Certified Outsourcing Professional (COP) Program – This first professional designation for professionals who use, offer and consult on outsourcing provides a common language, methodology and quality standards. Click here to see where classes are forming in the region.

·       The Global Outsourcing 100 – IAOP’s annual ranking of the world’s best outsourcing service providers, based on a rigorously judged application process, is a benchmark that helps executives gauge the strength of the industry as a whole and compare its service providers. ·       Regional News of InterestNewsworthy activities of IAOP

Ř  Offshoring & Outsourcing Philippines: Roadmap 2010 is the first report published by the Business Processing Association of the Philippines (BPAP), the umbrella organization of over 100 industry players and 100 vendors in the country. The report examines the state of the offshoring and outsourcing industry, globally and in the Philippines, and looks closely at the factors that contribute to its growth (and those that indeed may eventually inhibit it).
