Meeting held April 21, 2009

The Outsourcing Tools & Technology Innovation Chapter held their a webinar on April 21, 2009.  Professor Tom Kosnik from Stanford University shared enlightening data in a presentation entitled “Research Results on Total Cost of Outsourcing Operations.”

Two teams of graduate students conducted over 100 interviews with executives from top insurance and financial services firms as well as international BPO vendors during a six month period as part of a Global Entrepreneurial Marketing (GEM) class.  Direct cost of Operations (DCO) + Total Cost of Errors (TCE) + Cost of Control (CoC) = Total Cost of Ownership/Outsourcing (TCO).  By reviewing processes using this formula, information was shared that would help you shift your TCE Frontier and increase quality control.  For more in depth information, members may download the full presentation slide deck and view the webinar recording through the Chapter Presentations link in our Knowledge Center.
